Project description
The general objective of the project is to contribute to the improvement of the living and subsistence conditions of the population of the Budjala territory and to the development of effective and shared policies to fight extreme poverty, promoting income-generating activities. It does so by using the practice of “honor loans”, a financing system that individuals and groups of people organized in savings groups refer to in order to finance livestock farming, agriculture, processing of agricultural products, small businesses and anything else that is deemed feasible and therefore financeable by our association.
These are revolving loans, which presuppose a repayment within an agreed and scheduled time, so that the resources returned, without any interest, are available for new loans for new beneficiaries. A model, that of microcredit, widely used in poor countries, conceived by an Indian banker who was awarded the Nobel Prize for Economics.
