MISSION IN CONGO AND ETHIOPIA

Short one-week mission of the president of GSI Italia in Congo and Ethiopia. Today, work began with the national conference on Street Children, organized by the Association with the Minister of Social Affairs and UN agencies, the World Bank and the World Health Organization. The conference is the last act of the three-year project of GSI Italia in Kinshasa and will be attended by the new cardinal elected in the last consistory. With a notarial deed the Congolese partners will receive the structures and the means realized with the project.

Departure on Thursday for Addis Ababa. Invitation for lunch at the embassy by our ambassador and in the afternoon a meeting with the Health Minister and health managers of St Paul’s Hospital and Black Lion Hospital in Addis Ababa, and of Gondar University for planning the training activity of GSI Italia in 2020-21 in the areas of rehabilitation and pediatric heart surgery.

A brief meeting with the cardinal of Addis Ababa on Saturday before leaving for Rome to discuss a hypothesis of collaboration with the Ethiopian Catholic university recently established in the capital.
