THE COMMITMENT OF GSI ITALIA CONTINUES FOR THE WOMEN OF BURKINA FASO

A subsidy has been still granted through GSI Italia by the nuns of Saint Rita of Cascia. To be financed with 23 thousand euros is the intervention program of the association for the women of Faa I Tuora, the association that GSI Italia created in Dissin, in the south west of the country.

Originally the Burchinabé association was formed with only 17 women, widows of AIDS. Today, Faa I Tuora has over a thousand women and the villages involved together with Dissin are over 20. The microcredit service launched by GSI Italia has allowed the creation of hundreds of small commercial activities, livestock farm animals, cultivation of vegetable gardens, preserves and processing of agricultural products, which allow the sustainability of women and their families.

The donation of the nuns of Cascia will represent the support to this fragile and precious model of development, widening the number of beneficiaries.
